Moderated by Kaylee Hobbs, MMFA Manager of Adult Programs, this gallery talk will help ease participants into conversations about art and is followed by an artmaking workshop in the MMFA studio with a local textile artist.
Stitching Studio with Joyce Bamman
Join textile artist and educator, Joyce Bamman, in an immersive studio class designed for both beginners and seasoned stitchers. This engaging workshop will take you on a creative journey, exploring a diverse array of stitching techniques. You will learn how to apply these techniques to create an abstract stitched work of art or a captivating textile landscape, drawing inspiration from nature, personal experiences, and your imagination. Materials and tools will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own favorites to personalize your work even further.
