About Winter Sensory Workshop 2025

Cost: Free*
For all ages, families and individuals

MMFA’s inaugural Winter Sensory Workshop provides a fun, seasonal, and sensory-friendly event for individuals and families with loved ones on the Autism spectrum. Join the museum for artmaking in our studios, as well as local resources for sensory inclusive spaces and partners.

Class Descriptions:

Simmer Pot Kit – Focusing on our sense of smell, participants are invited to make their own simmer pot satchels to be enjoyed once they return home. Participants will be encouraged to discuss how certain scents make them feel and why.

Winter Sensory Bag – Sense of touch and visual elements are the primary inspirations for this class. Winter-themed trinkets, such as crystal snowflakes, multicolored pom-poms, and mini pinecones will be added to gel-filled bags. These bags can be stuck on windows for long car rides!

Registration is Open!

*Winter Sensory Workshop is a Free Program thanks to support from the Art Bridges Access for All grant.

Pre-registration for classes will be required and spots are limited. Please contact Ashley Redic (aredic@mmfa.org) for pre-registration.
