Watercolor Studio with Laura Bocquin

Saturday, March 30 at 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Overview

Designed for adults

Participants in this spring’s watercolor workshop, led by local artist and educator Laura Bocquin, will take inspiration from the techniques and stylings of American artist Charles Burchfield. Original watercolor landscapes of Burchfield—on view in the Museum’s Weil Print Room—demonstrate imaginative narratives through strong stylization while maintaining a realistic perspective. Participants will review basic watercolor techniques and landscape practices and learn how to develop compositions through layering, ultimately creating multiple landscape paintings from both photographs and in-person inspiration.
