Join us for a reception celebrating our fall exhibitions: Collecting Modern American Art: The Charles and Babette Wampold Collection at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts and Sawyer Rose: The Carrying Stones Project.

Raise a glass with the children of Charles and Babette Wampold, Carolyn Beller, Charles Wampold, Jerre Lynn Waters as we honor the Wampolds’ enduring philanthropic legacy and celebrate the opening of Sawyer Rose.

The Wampold Collection showcases over 38 years of passionate collecting by Montgomerians Charles and Babette Wampold. Their shared vision and love for modern American art are reflected in a collection they lived with and later generously gifted to the Museum between 1982 and 2018.

The Carrying Stones Project blends art and data visualization to spark meaningful dialogue around gender-based labor inequity. Through compelling portraits and statistics, Sawyer Rose invites viewers to reflect on the intersections of equity, labor, and community.

Collecting Modern American Art: The Charles and Babette Wampold Collection and Sawyer Rose: The Carrying Stones Project will be on view through January 11, 2026.
