Opening Reception Celebration

Friday, February 6 at 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

You are invited to the Opening Reception of

This Land Is Your Land: American Landscapes from the MMFA Collection

and Contemporary American Paintings: Selections from the MMFA Collection

Date: February 6, 2026
Time: 5 to 7 PM

Celebrate 250 years of American independence with an evening at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. The opening of This Land Is Your Land: American Landscapes from the MMFA Collection explores how artists have captured the American landscape across generations, while Contemporary American Paintings: Selections from the MMFA Collection brings the story into the present with bold, colorful works that reflect the world we live in today. Together, these exhibitions fill the galleries with energy, movement, and a fresh perspective on American art.

Enjoy a laid-back night of art, live bluegrass and folk music, and farm-to-table bites as you explore favorites from the Museum’s permanent collection, including works by Alabama artists Anne Goldthwaite and Kelly Fitzpatrick.
