Join MMFA’s Development and Community Relations Coordinator Cassandra Cavness for a virtual program as she discusses art as an economic driver with MMFA Director of Development Tisha Rhodes and the City of Montgomery’s Director of Cultural Affairs Yvette Jones-Smedley. The discussion will focus on how art helps to create and sustain thriving cities and institutions. 

Tisha Rhodes

Tisha Rhodes spent 17 years as director of services at the MMFA, managing its store, Café M, and all special events and catering. From there she transitioned to the director of development and public affairs at The Family Sunshine Center in Montgomery before returning home to the MMFA as the Director of Development where she leads fundraising and expansion efforts.

Yvette Jones-Smedley

Yvette Jones-Smedley recently took a position as Director of Cultural Affairs at the City of Montgomery. Previously, she was the Performing Arts Program Manager at Alabama State Council on the Arts. Ms. Jones-Smedley has over 25 years of service to the Alabama arts community performing in various capacities including instructor, actor, director, producer and administrator.
