Create Art Inspired by Nellie Mae Rowe
Studio 2
Artists of all ages are invited to paint a community canvas centered around the exhibition, Really Free: The Radical Art of Nellie Mae Rowe. Participants will let their creative side show by covering a canvas with bright, vibrant colors.
Once the canvas is covered with bright colors, local artist Winfred Hawkins will create the finishing touches. The finished product will be on view at the Museum through September 2024.
These programs are designed as intergenerational; every family or community group member can create artwork together, bridging the gap between different age groups through creative expression and welcome everyone into creative storytelling.
