Questions to Consider

  • What distinguishes an IM Pei building? Consider both form and function and context (how the buildings relate to their surroundings and cultural and historic references.)
  • When reading about Pei’s designs for cultural institutions, please consider what informs the design of our Museum. How does MMFA announce itself as a place of learning, culture, or inspiration? What does the structure invite us to do? How does it relate to its park setting?
