Studio Classes

All Ages

Winter in the Studio

Winter Open Studios

Come to the Museum during winter break and create a winter-themed project. During open studio hours, drop in anytime to make an artwork. Each day will feature a different project and technique. We’ll supply the materials you bring the creativity!

Dates: Wednesday, January 2 and Thursday, January 3

Preschool

Young Artists

Ages 3 to 5 with an adult caregiver

Children with their caregivers will enjoy learning about the basic elements of art through fun and new artmaking techniques. Each class will feature a different project that will help improve fine motor and social skills.

Thursdays: Jan 31, Feb 14, 28, and Mar 14, 28

Children and Youth

After-school Art

Ages 6 to 14

Students will love this series of classes that will focus on traditional and nontraditional art forms and techniques. Whether they are seasoned artists or just starting out anyone will enjoy this class and get to create several artworks using a variety of materials.

Homeschool Clay Workshop

Ages 6 to 16

Participants will learn from an experienced artist to create their own works in clay using different techniques. Each student will also experience the steps of the firing and glazing processes during class, culminating in finished artworks to take home.

Spring Break Studio

Ages 6 to 14

Participants will find inspiration to create amazing artworks in the studio by exploring our galleries and have the chance to work
on several different projects using a variety of techniques. Students are asked to bring a sack lunch on both days.

Teens and Adults

Adult Batik Workshop

Ages 14 and Older

Interested in learning this unique art form of dyeing textiles using wax? Those with experience and beginners alike are invited to register for this exciting workshop. Participants will learn the traditional techniques to create their own batik works

Dates: Saturday, January 19 and 26 and Sunday, January 20 and 27
Time: Saturday: 10 AM–2 PM and Sunday: 1–4 PM

Expressive Faces in Clay

Ages 14 and Older

Inspired by the About Face exhibition, participants will learn techniques and tips for creating either abstract or realistic faces using clay. Students will be able to delve into creating a single finished work, which will be fired after class and can be picked up at a later date.

Time: 10 AM–4 PM

Fees and Refunds

Tuition cost will be refunded if a class is canceled. For a full refund, cancellations must be made no later than two weeks before the class, workshop, or camp begins. After that time a 25% an administrative fee will be charged.
