Located within the Blount Cultural Park, the Museum is nestled in one of the most picturesque spots in Montgomery. The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts provides a unique and sophisticated setting to showcase dreams and make business occasions genuinely memorable.

The Museum was founded to collect, preserve, exhibit and interpret art of the highest quality for the enrichment, enlightenment, and enjoyment of its public. The Museum seeks to host only those events that are in keeping with traditions and overall purposes of the institution.

Museum Spaces

The Rotunda

Event in RotundaThe grand Rotunda, with its classically inspired dome, monumental columns, marble floors, and gracious Foyer entrance is a work of art in itself. The Rotunda features:

  • Ample space to accommodate up to 115 for a seated dinner or 200 for a cocktail reception
  • Easy access to adjoining galleries, which are available to be open during events
  • Direct access to the beautiful lakeside Terrace and fantastic views of the park
  • Access to the adjacent gallery, Durr-Fillauer, which can accommodate an additional 35 guests for dinner and 100 guests for a cocktail reception

The Terrace

Outdoor TerraceThe beautiful lakeside Terrace provides the perfect backdrop for a diverse range of events. Porte-cochères, a fountain, the lake, and a view of the rolling parkland create a dramatic experience. The Terrace features:

  • Space to accommodate up to 115 for a seated dinner or 200 for a cocktail reception
  • Easy access to adjoining galleries, which are available to be open during events

The Lowder Gallery

In the Lowder Gallery, the dramatic and monumental stained glass windows by Cappy Thompson provide the perfect setting for any large-scale event. The Lowder Gallery features:

  • Space to accommodate up to 200 for a seated dinner or 300 for a cocktail reception
  • Access to the adjacent, Orientation Circle, which has a variety of uses including space for cocktails at a dinner event or a unique space for a band at a cocktail reception
  • A beautiful glass Atrium gallery also adjoins Lowder and provides a magnificent entrance as well as an additional area for cocktails

Wilson Orientation Circle

The Wilson Orientation Circle with curved walls, theatre-style acoustics, and projection equipment is the perfect space for intimate luncheons, dinners, or meetings. This distinctive space features:

  • Space to accommodate a seated luncheon or dinner for up to 70 guests
  • A retractable screen and projection system

Wilson Auditorium

The Wilson Auditorium is chosen by professional musicians, local schools, and business organizations as center stage for masterful presentations and programs. The Wilson Auditorium features:

  • Inclined theater-style seating for up to 240 guests
  • A raised stage
  • Adjustable lighting
  • Audio-visual equipment, including a retractable screen

Entertaining at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts is a privilege of corporate membership. Year after year, corporate members choose the Museum to host formal seated dinners, cocktail receptions, holiday parties, business meetings, and luncheons. In supporting the Museum as a corporate member, businesses help contribute to the Museum’s outstanding exhibitions and innovative programs. Professional Photography

A reservation is required for all professional / wedding / engagement / school / group photography regardless of party size. Reservations should be made at least 3 days in advance.

Photoshoots with a professional photographer (including wedding, prom, and homecoming photography) are available by reservation for $100; this fee is included in the cost of a facility rental. The fee for professional photography organized by a school for school groups, including graduation and club photography, is waived.

You do not need to be a Member of the Museum to make a reservation. Reservation slots are available between 10 AM and 5 PM, Tuesday through Saturday, and from noon until 5 PM on Sunday. Groups wishing to take photographs on the Terrace during closed hours must make special arrangements with Cynthia Milledge, Director of Marketing and Public Relations. The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts reserves the right to decline involvement in any project or event and to approve all collateral for events hosted at the Museum. No commercial, political, religious or fundraising events are permitted.
