Di"Vine" Lunch

July 16, 2009

Gather your friends for a wonderful summer day of lunch, wine, and art.  The Museum’s Café M will host its quarterly Di”Vine” lunch on July 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. where guests, while admiring the Museum’s one-of-a-kind view, can enjoy a magnificent lunch paired with tastings of the newest summer wines. For $15 per person, the day’s menu will include grilled chicken and artichokes in a scampi sauce on a bed of vermicelli and topped with fresh basil; red snapper with orzo salad; or bulgar wheat salad on a grilled portabella served on a bed of arugula.

Come early at 10 A.M. and meet New York artist Mia Pearlman who creates cut paper sculptures inspired by nature and her surroundings.

The focal point of her exhibition will be MAELSTROM, a giant, multilevel mobile that is 12 feet in diameter and hovers above the heads of viewers.

In addition to MALESTROM, Pearlman will discuss other three-dimensional, site-created paper sculptures and two-dimensional work on exhibit.

Reservations are required and can be made by calling 334.240.4339.

The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday Noon to 5p.m. Admission is free and donations are welcome. For more information, call the MMFA at 334.240.4333 or visit the website at www.mmfa.org.
