The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts is a major cultural resource for central Alabama and the southeastern United States, with a growing permanent collection of American art, African art and works on paper. Accredited by the American Association of Museums, the museum is a state-of-the-art facility built in 1988, with museum staff and volunteers trained in all relevant areas of museum management and current professional practice. As a part of the Museum’s education initiative, internships are offered for students interested in museum work as a career, providing pre-professional experience under the guidance of Museum staff.
