Make your own stained glass window in this informative class for
beginning and intermediate students. Learn the basic techniques of designing
glass patterns, cutting, grinding, and soldering glass. Students with prior
experience will learn to design their own ideas. Sign up early, as the class is

tools and most materials are provided.

artist/teacher in this three-day intensive workshop! JoAnn Williams Walker has
taught workshops across the southeastern region and is represented in Alabama,
Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina galleries. Her informative workshop will
include demonstrations, color mixing exercises, and painting instruction for

techniques and principles of design will be explored in this weekly class for
upper elementary and junior high students. Studying paintings, prints, and
sculptures in the Museum by well-known artists, students will learn to improve
their own two-dimensional and three-dimensional artwork. Lessons include a
variety of art materials and techniques: sculpting with clay, carving plaster;
painting with acrylics, gouache and watercolors; drawing with charcoal,
graphite, ink, oil and chalk pastels; monotype and silk-screen printmaking.
Class size is limited to 10 students.

September 26, 2010 – Still Life Watercolors – Objects of Wonder: Four Centuries
of Still Life from the Norton Museum of Art.
Bring the entire family
to these special Sunday afternoons, when the art cart is rolled into the
Rotunda of the Museum for an art activity, related to one of the exhibitions in
the galleries. Guided mini-tours are also included. Most art cart activities
last about half an hour. This FREE program is appropriate for most ages.
Children under the age of 10 years MUST be accompanied by an adult.
